Local Slinger Sports History
"It’s important to know where Slinger sports have come from and where they are going. I think the Hall of Fame was built mostly to motivate the current students to succeed, to give them incentive to want to get in, but we also wanted to acknowledge prior athletes and what they have accomplished."
Larry Gundrum, on why the Hall of Fame was built
"We had an alumni named Cathy Branta going on to do all these things nationally, and it just felt like we should have a place where we could recognize some of our former athletes on their accomplishments. We had people with credentials to acknowledge."
Fred Spaeth, on why he pushed for an Athletic Hall of Fame
