150 years of Slinger

1869-2019

During the 2018-2019 school year, Slinger High School Social Studies students conducted research using Slinger HS annuals, newspapers, books, letters, photos, surveys,and interviews to get a sense of the history and culture in the village of Slinger, Wisconsin (past and present).  The data was used to help students get a better sense of the village of Slinger's 150 years (1869-2019) and the events celebrating it in the village in 2019

This website captures part of the research. While somewhat comprehensive, there are many subjects not represented.

Storck Brewery 

Students and teachers learn about the history of the Storck Brewery from retired judge John Storck in this video created during the 2018-2019 school year.  In addition to his Storck lineage, John is also related to the Feutz and Thiels from Slinger.

Slinger High School's German Studies classes are strong. In this 2019 video clip, a student reveals the value of interdisciplinary education between German and History classes particulary as the students studied 150th anniversary of Slinger during the 2018-2019 school year.
